I Changed My Mind...risking it all

Don’t dull your life; your mates will not get the point. They are satisfied with where they are. Week after week of energing –sapping sameness, what a life!

But, you know better, that there’s more to your life. It all lies in the power of choice not chance. A choice to explore your you-niqueness and live to your full potential. It reminds me of the story of Charlie Steinmetz as told by Max Lucado, my favourite author .Steinmetz designed Henry Ford’s first assembly lines in Dearborn, Michigan.

Sometimes after he retired, there was a problem with the generating set he designed, which brought work to a halt. Ford’s engineer could not fix the problem, so he called his old friend Charlie.Steinmtz fiddled with the gauge, played with a few wires, tried the buttons and after a few hours, the plant started working again.

Days later, Ford received a bill from Charlie for $10,000.Ford found the charges quite strange and he wrote his friend, “Charlie, it seems akward, $10,000 just for tinkering around a few wires and plugs”. Charlie wrote a new bill and sent it to Mr Ford.” Henry: for tinkering round the plugs and wires, $10; for knowing where to tinker, $9,990.

Trust me you and I tinker unlike anyone else. We are not a coincidental collision of particles, an accidental evolution of molecules, and a flotsam in the universe. God is not wrong about us. He wove us all together. Beautifully, fearfully and skilfully wrought in His hidden chamber for His Highest purpose not ours.

It’s time to get that cool stuff out of you, unleash the dragon (gift),even when you get it wrong somewhere,Holy Spirit will correct us, enable us build according to God’s plan.
He knows our pains, anxieties and all we are going through. Our temperament, character texture, what makes us cry, what makes us laugh, the day of our birth and death, days of difficulty and victory.

Let us quit low -living, its too boring, too expensive, too suicidal. Let us take a leap and see what God can do for us, in us and through us. It all begins with a choice. A choice we will not regret.

I tot of you now & always.

  1. Wow, I love this post, you are so rightI agree. I feel that I have a purpose in life. I feel that God has not made a mistake when he put me on this earth. I often have a hard time waiting though. I know that I have to take chances but often I am paralyzed by fear and anxiety,I pray often asking God to help me. I recently moved to San Antonio from El Paso, it seems like nothing but it has been very challenging for me since I suffer from panic attacks, and this is the first time I am so far away from family, alone in a big new city. Thank you for this entery it has given me comfort.
