Are You Kidney Me ?
You mean to live my life on one kidney, are you kidding me? Sometimes I wonder if I do not need more than two kidneys to live and pay all my monthly bills.
This is exactly what Tom, a 26 yrs old web designer did. He had one of his kidney removed to save a complete stranger. Tom got fascinated with the idea after reading an article about a woman who‘d given her kidney to a complete stranger.
As I try to figure out what was going through their minds risking their lives, a whirlwind of mixed emotion, anxiety, fears, love and admiration streamed down my upturned face. I cannot but fall in love with these beautiful people who risked it all to give others a chance to live as well, not minding the cost.
According to Tom, “It has always stayed in mind as something I wanted to do”. The death of one of Tom’s close friend ZoĆ«, made him realised how short life is.
Tom’s story reminded of God’s love for humanity. To God, you are no stranger. He knew you even before you were born, infact He thinks about you and me 24/7, 365. God keeps vigil over us.
While Tom gave one of his kidneys, God gave it all. He gave his only begotten son to die for our sins. I just love John 3 vs. 16. It says “For God so much loved the world (you and me), that he gave his one and only begotten son that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Make no mistake about this, we have all sinned and come short of God’s standard, and because God loves us, he made his son to die on the cross of Calvary to pay the ultimate price for our sins so that we can have eternal life. All God wants from you is simple as ABC. Accept, Believe and Confess your sins. Is it that simple? Yes my friend, it is that simple. You need to confess Jesus Christ as Lord of your life, and believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross for you.
As Tom remarked, Life’s too short”.
Dear friend, it will gladden my heart if you please gave it some thoughts. Will you?
